FoodBank Harvest 2024

21st November 2024

Traditionally, Harvest Festival time is an important time for our foodbank as we get Harvest donations from local churches and schools. By September our stocks are often quite low after a lull in donations over the summer. Generally we have had less donations  this year than in previous years, but because we are seeing more people in need, we have given a lot of these donations away. So far since the 1st April we have provided food for 1773 adults and  1273 children. The commonest reason why people come to the food bank is low income and a small crisis can push them over into food poverty.

So we are grateful to the level of support we are receiving from the local churches and schools.

We would like to say thank you for all the Harvest donations this year from:
Chadvale school
Quinton primary school
Christ church
St. Faith & St Lawrence
St Johns
St Boniface
Harborne Baptist
St Peters
Christadelphians
Norfolk house school

One thing is very certain, the general public is very supportive of foodbanks and these donations provide great examples.
